Responsibilities:
1 Database Development:
Collaborate with the development team to design, code, and implement Oracle PL/SQL procedures, functions, triggers, and packages.
2 Query Optimization:
Work on optimizing SQL queries for better performance and efficiency in database operations.
3 Data Integrity:
Ensure data integrity by designing and implementing appropriate constraints and validations within the Oracle database.
4 Troubleshooting:
Investigate and resolve issues related to database performance, data integrity, and application functionality.
5 Code Testing:
Develop and execute unit tests to validate the accuracy and efficiency of PL/SQL code.
6 Collaboration:
Work closely with software developers, system analysts, and other stakeholders to integrate database functionality into applications.
7 Documentation:
Maintain clear and concise documentation of database structures, procedures, and functions.
8 Security Implementation:
Implement and maintain database security measures to protect sensitive information.
9 Performance Monitoring:
Monitor database performance and proactively address any performance-related issues.
10 Adherence to Standards:
Follow coding standards and best practices in Oracle PL/SQL development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of relational databases, specifically Oracle.
- Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL programming languages.
- Knowledge of database design principles and normalization.
- Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with Oracle performance tuning tools.
- Exposure to Oracle forms and reports development.
- Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Certification in Oracle PL/SQL is a plus.
