JOB BRIEF– System Administrator.
The system Administrator role will be an individual contributor role, where the person will be responsible to maintain the entire IT infrastructure for the organization, help out with system and network troubleshoots and day-2-day employee queries. This role would also be responsible for collaborating with external vendors for our communication channels.
JOB ROLES:
• Installs, configures, test, and maintains servers, VMWare, and related networking equipment.
• Monitors scheduled jobs and computer output for completeness, accuracy, and errors.
• Performs all critical data backups and secures data according to established procedures.
• Installs firmware and security updates on servers, printers, and related networking equipment.
• Configures and maintains LDAP server & Microsoft Active Directory.
• Installs, configures, and maintains IPS/IDS, Firewall, Anti-Virus, Anti-Spam, Antimalware, etc. for maximum internal network protection.
• Maintains Unified Communications, VoIP, and any related equipment, services, and platforms.
• Maintains all data used for redundancy efforts and assists with remediation efforts as a result of test findings and risk assessments.
• Logs all computer, terminal, and printer hardware/software problems. Calls appropriate maintenance organizations and arrange for repair. Notifies supervisor of unusual problems.
• Assists with software upgrades and installations.
• Creates scripts for automation of common tasks.
• Provides support to operational staff.
• Performs such other duties as may be required from time to time for the overall
SKILLS:
Good knowledge of at least one scripting language
Solid understanding of LAN/WAN networks
Knowledge of system security techniques
Good problem-solving and communication skills
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
• Require advanced proficiency in the operation of local and wide-area networks and components.
• Must be proficient with current Microsoft Server & Linux Server and Win/Linux operating systems.
• Must be able to perform duties accurately and independently. Must be able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Must be able to work with members and associates in person or over the phone, in a courteous, pleasant, professional, and efficient manner. Discretion, accuracy and clarity in communication are essential.
• Install and integrate new server hardware and applications, Keep an eye out for needed updates
• Support and administer third-party applications, Ensure network security and connectivity
• Monitor network performance (availability, utilization, throughput, good put, and latency) and test for weaknesses
• Set up user accounts, permissions, and passwords, Resolve problems reported by end user
• Define network policies and procedures
• Specify system requirements and design solutions, Research and make recommendations on server system administration
